It all began when I decided I I wanted to lose weight for my son's wedding [so I can blame Phillip]. Mission accomplished - I then needed a new focus.
Friends suggested the Great North Run would do the trick [wine may have been flowing at the time] - but in fairness they did offer to do it with me.So 4 of us [Ben and Sue with Me and husband Paul] agreed to enter the ballot.
I am not a natural runner - so this will be a challenge.
Let the story unfold
While we are sure to have a lot of fun on route the main purpose of the trip is to raise money through sponsorship for two Charities.
As Sue is a trustee of Birmingham Childrens Hospital, we really have to support such a good cause. They have recently launched The Red Balloon Appeal and we are hoping that the support we receive will help us make a generous donation to that cause. redballoonappeal.co.uk
NCH is the nominated Charity of the Italian Job Touring Event. www.nch.org.uk
